CNI Forest Management Ltd is fully committed to providing a safe working environment, for all associated with our organisation and ensuring that all personnel have the skills, knowledge and training required performing all tasks safely & productively.

Emphasis is placed on training, as it is our belief that a professional, skilled workforce leads to a safer working environment.  CNI currently employs a number of Modern Apprentices under the new Government scheme, 20 Apprentices have completed all the requirements for their national certificates.

CNI Forest Management Ltd received Forest Industries Training award for Silviculture Company of the Year 2001 and was a finalist for this award in 2002. Trainer of the Year was awarded to one of our assessors in 2001. Modern Apprentice of the Year was also achieved in 2001. This shows the commitment that the company has in training employees for a future in the forest industry. This process commences at time of induction, monitoring through the employee database in conjunction with the Forest Industries Training Website programming training and assessments as operational and seasonal variations allow.

We believe that our organisation has developed the best Health & Safety system available to forestry operations companies servicing the forestry industry today.  CNI has consistently met or exceeded industry standards over the last 9 years. CNI has been Tertiary Certified with ACC since 2002 and last year August 2007 was audited by ACC (WSMP) and passed for a further 2 years up until August 2009 which indicates our strong commitment towards Health and Safety for all our staff and employees.

CNI Forest Management has a full time Training Crew based in Rotorua which we see as another commitment that CNI recognises the importance of training and coaching new recruits into the forestry industry.  The trainer of this crew is also a registered forestry trainer Assessor who has the qualifications to assess new recruits with NZQA units.
